Dispose of all
flammables and unwanted medicines

Have car inspected and
serviced. If moving within the country, select items to be moved with
the car/ in the car

Pack suitcases ahead of
time – select travelling games

Make arrangements to
take down curtains, rods, shelves and TV antenna/dish

Line up with a baby
sitter for moving day so you can look after moving.

If moving
internationally arrange express baggage services.

Arrange for new home to
be cleaned , particularly cupboards and closets.

Valuable such as jewellery and
other items from your safe deposit lockers must be removed and packed.
Never ship valuables and always carry them with you.

Items that you will need
immediately on arrival may be sent by air freight now to ensure timely
arrival and clearance.

Store all unwanted items at
this time.

Check all suitcases and their
straps, rollers and locks and have them repaired if necessary. New bags
if required, to be bought at this time.

If taking laptop or notebook
computer, make backup copies of all data and check the manual for the
procedure for “parking the heads for shipping”.
