Typical monthly cost for utilities is between Rs
6,400/- to Rs 14,500/-. Most of this is for electricity due to high
usage of Air Conditioning. Generally a generator backup is needed.
Water is very cheap. Costs are negligible. Costs vary
between Rs 200/- to Rs 500/- per month. Water supply is two times in the
day, between 2 - 4 hours each session. Normally water is stored in the
underground tanks and then pumped to overhead tanks for later use. Most
of the houses have their own tube or bore well. Each household, however
requires a small filtration unit.
Pest extermination is often needed, and costs
approximately Rs 400/- per visit. Contents insurance costs Rs 375/- to
Rs 1,150/- per month. |
