In
the West, studies have shown that keeping an aquarium has a calming effect
on the owners. Watching these fishes swim to and fro swiftly is a wonderful
way to relax and calm your nerves, especially after a long and stressful day
at work. In the East however, water and fish together are synonymous of
abundance of Wealth and good fortune in your life.
"Those who wish to benefit fully from the use of Arowanas should display
them on the office desk or study table in a group of NINE."
In the past, you are bound to see an aquarium placed strategically in almost
every oriental office that you enter into. Today, this trend is not limited
only to oriental offices; in fact most offices have caught on already. If
you are wondering on the what, where and how's of keeping an aquarium to
attract wealth into your office, here are some handy tips to make the most
of it.
Deciding to keep an aquarium in the office is not an easy one. Firstly, you
need to decide on the type of fish you would like to keep, and then you need
to decide on the number of fishes and finally where the aquarium should be
placed. It is very important that the placement of aquariums is well thought
out; this is because if placed wrongly it has the potential to play havoc in
your business. The best sectors to place them are in the North, East or
Southeast of your office. This is because it complements the elements
dominating these sectors.
Amongst all the fishes that are kept for good fortune, the Arowana is most
popular to attract wealth luck into the office. This exceptionally beautiful
fish comes in many different varieties. It is only those that show a tinge
of pink, gold or silver are prized for their Feng Shui connotations.
This fish is best kept singly, in threes or in fives with nothing else in
the aquarium. They are carnivorous and should be fed live bait. These fishes
are best fed with goldfish to give their scales a tinge of pink. However, it
is advised to feed them with special fish pellets instead to prevent
incurring bad karma. Arowanas are best kept in the Southeast sector of your
home.
If you find the Arowana too expensive, you may also keep the famous Japanese
carp. These fishes are best kept in a pond.
Do not keep the angel fish for their poison arrow like fins are not
auspicious!
Chinese goldfish are also recommended, and they should be kept in an
aquarium. The most auspicious number to keep is nine, eight of which should
be red and gold in color while the ninth should be black. The black fish is
kept to absorb any bad luck coming to you. Do not worry if any of your
fishes die, it merely symbolizes that it has absorbed bad luck that came
your way.
The Carp represents fish and is pronounced as "Yu" - meaning "abundance" in
Chinese. It is also known for its legendary valour in swimming against the
current symbolizing strength and perseverance.
Japanese Koi or the Carp are another fish bringing abundance and good luck.
These fish may not be so conducive to keeping in the office unless you have
a building of your own, as these fish are usually kept in ponds rather than
aquariums. But an alternative to keeping real fish, with the hassle of
feeding them and cleaning their tanks, statues, figurines or paintings work
just as well.
Keep them well looked after and it is sure to bring some changes into the
office!
